Dora Denise Hamrick Bowling, born on April 17, 1978, in Hyden, Kentucky, was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, whose life journey came to a peaceful close on December 2, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 46 years old.
Dora dedicated her professional life to healthcare, having worked in the medical billing and coding department at Mary Breckinridge Hospital. Her commitment to her career was a testament to her character and work ethic, making a profound impact in the lives of many.
In her personal life, Dora was known for her warm spirit and adventurous heart. She often found joy in fishing and singing, but above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and her beloved dog. These moments were precious to her, and they reflected the love she held for those around her.
Dora is survived by her devoted mother, Judy Carol Hoskins; her daughter, Kendra Lashay Bowling (Nicholas Lewis);, her mother-in-law, Velma Bowling, two brothers-in-law, James Bowling and wife, Deanise & Scott Bowling, her stepdaughter, Candis Shawntae Bowling; and her stepsons, Richard Douglas Bowling and Derrick Lee Bowling. She was a loving sister to Kimberly Hamrick Dotson (Rick), one niece, Madison Kayley Morgan, and cherished by her brothers, Terry Allen Hamrick and John Justin Hamrick. Dora also adored her granddaughter, Kenley Nichaela Grace Lewis, and her step-granddaughter, Arianna Trinity Paige Lewis. Additionally, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins will also remember her fondly and carry her legacy forward.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Hayes Hamrick and her husband Ricky Bowling who will be lovingly remembered.
Dora Denise Hamrick Bowling will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, kindness, and love for her family and friends will live on in their hearts forever.
Funeral: Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Hyden, Kentucky

Interment: Griffie Family Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky
Pallbearers: Nicholas Lewis, John Justin Hamrick, Derrick Bowling, Richard Douglas Bowling and Jacob Lewis
Visitation: Friday, December 6, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
