Dora Halpin, 72, of Fort Mill, SC fell asleep in the Lord on Monday October 13, 2025, at the Wayne T Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.
A Panikhida and visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 5:30 pm and a funeral service will be held on Friday October 17, 2025, at 9:00 am. Both services will be held at St. Anthony the Great Orthodox Church, located at 3075 Long Meadow Rd in Rock Hill. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Dora was a daughter of the late Marvin Winston Freeman and Dora Freeman. After pursuing a nursing degree through BOCES of New York State and obtaining licensure as an LPN, Dora left the nursing field to devote her life to her family. Dora’s daughter and grandchildren were her top priorities, and her dedication and love for them will always be cherished.
In addition to her family, Dora’s faith as an Orthodox Christian was an important part of her life. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s in Dix Hills, NY from her teenage years until she moved to the Carolinas, where she became a parishioner at St. Anthony’s.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph; daughter, Kristen and son-in-law Erik; grandchildren, John and Franziska; siblings, Elizabeth and Marvin.
