Dorenda G. Faulkner, age 66, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Dorenda was deeply passionate about many things – the allure of new places, the warmth of sunshine falling on the pool or beach, the thrill of finding the perfect item during a shopping spree, and the joyous spirit encapsulated within the Christmas season. Her supportive nature and her love for her cherished grandbabies were as unwavering as her faith, which she nurtured as a devoted member of Shiner Church of Christ.
Dorenda's professional milestones included her years of service at L&N Federal Credit Union and her later retirement as an instructional assistant with Corbin Independent Schools, always demonstrating her commitment to making a positive difference in her community. Yet, her most significant accomplishments were measured not in accolades but in the love she showered on her family and her grandbabies, the friends she won over with her sassy charm, and the lives she touched through her generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her dads, Silas "Cap" Dugger and Arnold Foust; father and mother-in-law, Odell and Ruby Faulkner; brother, William Butch Dugger; brothers-in-law, Kevin Faulkner, Dale Walker, and Mike Alexander.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kerry Faulkner; mother, Wilma Jean Dugger; children, Chadwick Wayne Faulkner (Nikki), and Keri Elaine Williams (Patrick); grandchildren, Brody Wayne Faulkner, Maggie Elaine Williams, Rowdy Dobber Faulkner, and Sadler Williams; siblings, Clark Dugger (Suzie), Starla Walker, Bridgid Clemmons (Bobby), Belinda Smith (Randy), Becky Waddle (Creston); sisters-in-law, Wanda Dugger, Kathy Harris (Eddie), and Jan Faulkner Bender; special friends, Kenny and Teresa Lundy, and David and Sherry Logan.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, and from 12-1 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Shiner Church of Christ.
A celebration of life for Dorenda will begin at 1 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Shiner Church of Christ with Rev. Chris Hopkins officiating.
