Dorine Auernhammer Obituary
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Bay Valley House at the age of 94. The daughter of the late Jacob and Alvina (Schwab) Appold was born September 17, 1930 in Bay City, Michigan. Dorine was an avid sports fan and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust, the church’s ladies aid and other various committees, she was also the owner of DorAnns Beauty Shop.
Dorine is survived by her children, Susan Jerome, Peter Auernhammer, Debra (Andrew) Kennedy, Sarah Auernhammer and Steven (Varsi) Auernhammer; grandchildren, Alexandra (Nick), Morgan (Chris), Jacob, Maclaine, Jackson, Benjamin and Austin (Katie); great grandson, Jesse; sister-in-law, Joanne Auernhammer and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold Auernhammer; two sisters, Anita Weiss and Lorna Ittner; brother, Alvin Appold and her brother-in-law, Alvin Auernhammer.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be pastor David Schultz with Committal following in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Paul Ministry Center.
