Doris Adair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Crematorium and Cemetery on Feb. 3, 2026.
Doris Irene Adair, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. She was born on February 21, 1937, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Mary Laird and James Franklin Laird.

Doris shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Kenneth Adair. They were married on August 26, 1955, in Lead, South Dakota, and spent their lives building a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion. After welcoming their third child, they moved to Eugene, Oregon, where they continued to grow their family and create a life full of cherished memories.

Doris was the heart of her home. She devoted herself to raising her five children and also worked as the secretary for Adair Roofing, always supporting her family with quiet strength and unwavering love. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved, and she did so with patience, kindness, and grace.

She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Doris loved crocheting, baking for her family, reading, crafting, and preserving food through canning. She cherished time spent outdoors-walking through the forest, camping, fishing, boating, and enjoying nature's beauty. Whether she was creating something with her hands or sharing warm homemade treats, Doris made everyone feel cared for.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Adair, and her son, Ron Adair, whom she missed deeply and is now joyfully reunited with.

She is survived by her loving children, James (Jim) Adair, Robert (Bob) Adair, Shari Millican, and Darin Adair; along with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to be loved by her. Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warm heart, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged. Her love will remain with us always.
