Doris Babel

Doris Marie (Beck) Babel, age 78, of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at home with her family by her side.
Born on September 30, 1946, at Germantown Hospital, Doris was the daughter of George Robert and Marie Alma Beck. She spent her early childhood years in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from Olney High School in 1964.
Doris began her career at an early age, working as a clerk at Girard Bank. She later became a nursery school teacher at Christ's Lutheran Church before progressing from secretary to office manager at Abington Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 23 years. Doris was an active member of Woodside Church in Yardley, PA, where she participated in the bell choir, Young at Heart, Bible Study, and Dinner Ministry. She was also involved in her previous church, Christ's Lutheran Church in Oreland, PA. Outside of her professional life, Doris was an avid cook, quilter, and craft enthusiast, with a passion for playing the piano. She will be remembered for her positivity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family, especially for always being present at her grandchildren's events.
She is survived by her loving husband, Allen Babel, and her children Matt Babel (AnniMaria) and Jodi Venables (Chip). Doris is also survived by her grandchildren Travis Venables, Hannah Polster (Venables), Matthew Babel, and Tyler Babel, as well as great-grandchildren Eden and Teddy Venables and Clarity Polster. She was the loving sister of Joan Schmidt and Barbara Griffin.
A memorial service will be held at Woodside Church, 1667 Edgewood Road, Yardley PA 19067, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with visiting hours from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Doris's name to the Memorial Fund of Woodside Church.
