Doris Baker Obituary

Doris Jean Baker, 92, of Greenwood, passed away on October 11, 2025. She was born on January 31, 1933 in Coatesville, IN to the late Rev. Albert Allee and Edith Allee.

Doris loved to cook, volunteered as usher at several local theaters in Indianapolis, and enjoyed playing euchre with friends.

Doris was a children's church teacher at First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church and Indianapolis Baptist Tabernacle.

Doris is survived by her son, Robert O. "Rob" Baker; grandson, Robert L. Baker; six great grandchildren; sister, Mary Louise Stanfield; and her kitty cat, Oreo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Baker; son, Thomas A. "Tab" Baker; grandson, John Michael "JB" Baker; twin brother, Morris Dean Allee and brother, Bob Allee.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, IN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, Greenwood, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Humane Society or Good News Mission.
