Doris Joan Bartunek, age 95, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on June 28, 2024. Doris was a lifelong musician and lover of music. She shared her passion by teaching piano lessons most of her life, a gift that influenced literally hundreds of students over her lifetime, including her own children and grandchildren. She encouraged her students to play duets, join groups and share their love of music. She was also an accomplished organist and served at 3 different churches, played for hundreds of weddings, funerals and also was a substitute organist, playing at many other churches. She enjoyed getting other musicians together to play at Easter or Christmas to join the choirs. She could pick up most instruments and start playing them.

Doris enjoyed traveling. She travelled to China, Spain, took some cruises and visited many states within the country. She loved technology, having owned one of the first Apple computers, her iPad was her companion in later years.. She loved to design the programs for her student's piano recital at the end of the year. She made the student's certificates and they always had to be just perfect. She enjoyed word games such as wordle, words with friends, trivia crack, Cryptoquip, and the Wuzzle in the daily paper.

Doris did a variety of things in her lifetime. When she was first married they lived in Huntsville Alabama while Ed served in the army. She worked for the government calculating trajectories of rockets, before the use of computers. Besides teaching and playing the organ, she would substitute in the Bloomington school system. After Ed passed she worked for Honeywell, and then started doing computer programming for Pearl bath. She also was a math tutor at Normandale College. Doris was very intelligent, had a great memory, was strong willed and loved to be with her family and her friends. She enjoyed being silly and having a good laugh, reminiscing about the past and watching football, specifically the Vikings, but any game would do! She enjoyed watching the birds and loved her dogs throughout her life.

She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.
