Doris Bee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Funeral Home - Harker Heights on Feb. 16, 2026.
Doris Leone Reed Bee passed away peacefully in Copperas Cove, Texas on February 13, 2026, at the age of 82. Doris was born August 24, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia and graduated from Weston High School in 1962.

Doris met the love of her life, Fred Bee, in the 8th grade in West Virginia. They were married on June 10, 1962. They moved to Killeen, TX, where their family was stationed throughout Fred's military career. They were married for 63 years until the passing of Fred in August, 2025. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Mamaw and great Mamaw.

Together they were blessed with two sons. Freddy and Terry Bee. Doris went to work at the City Drive in Cleaners where she had many fond memories and stories. Later in her career she and Fred had the opportunity to purchase the cleaners which they owned for 20 years. Doris had a passion for being a score keeper and working alongside her husband at many city sporting events, especially softball as well as sewing. Doris had many loves, including pancakes, Dairy Queen ice cream cones, and watching baseball and football. But most of all she loved being with her beloved husband, Fred.

Doris also volunteered alongside her husband in the Jaycee's and the Jaycee-ettes and Wounded Warriors Foundation. She also supported her husband on many committees and boards. She proudly accompanied Fred to many antique Car shows where they so proudly displayed their 1950 Ford Tudor named "Thunder".

Doris was a very kind, caring, and generous person. Often handing out coins to kids they came in contact with. Doris never seemed to meet a stranger. Which she instilled in her sons.

Doris loved her sons and grandchildren but later in life she especially loved spoiling her great grandchildren and often took them to Five Below for treats and toys and told them many family stories they would come to treasure.

Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Fred Bee. Her mother, Alice Reed. Her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Reed. In-laws, Fred Charles and Kathleen Bee Taylor. Grandmother, Agnes James.

Doris is survived by sons, Freddy Bee (Tammy), Terry Bee, all of Killeen, TX. Grandchildren, Courtney Hasten (Josh) of Ravenna, TX, Tyler Bee (Brittany) of Korea. Great Grandchildren, Kennleigh and Myles Bee Ravenna, TX. Rylee and Harper Hasten Ravenna, TX. Brother, Bob Reed (Brenda) of West Virginia. Sister, Elizabeth Ortiz of TN. Niece, Paula Freeman (David) of FL. Nephew, Christopher Reed (Michelle) of NC. Many great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends in the community.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Enhabit Hospice nurses and aids for all the time and special care they gave Doris. The family is forever grateful.

Visitation will be held February 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. 425 E Central Expressway, Harker Heights, TX 76548.
