Doris Maye Jackson Bobbitt

Doris Maye Jackson Bobbitt, 92, of South Mills, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Doris was born in Camden County, NC on November 13, 1933, and was the wife of the late Billy Gene Bobbitt and the daughter of Lawrence Barney Jackson, Sr. and Wilma McPherson Jackson, both deceased.

Survivors include her brother, Lawrence Barney Jackson, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC; nephew, Larry Jackson and wife, Michelle and their daughter, Lilley Jackson all of Elizabeth City, NC; and niece, Judy Wilkinson of Tennessee.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by her infant son, Billy Gene Bobbitt, Jr.; and two sisters, Emory “Peanut” Jackson Upton and Lucille Jackson Nix.

Funeral services celebrating Doris’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, South Mills, NC with Pastor Daryl Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in the Eason Family Cemetery, South Mills, NC. The family will greet friends with a reception in the church fellowship hall immediately following the committal service.
