Doris Buyze

1919 - 2020

Buyze, Doris 12/10/1919 - 12/5/2020 Grand Rapids Doris Buyze, age 100, went joyously with her Lord and Savior to her Heavenly home on Saturday December 5th, 2020, to reunite with her husband Glenn. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Barbara and siblings Bud, Alma, Elsie, Lucille, Dorothy, Eugene and Bill. Doris is survived by son Fred and his wife Sue and daughter Patricia they will always remember her for her wit and caring for family and friends. She had a very loving relationship with her four grandchildren Fred Jr., Steven, Samantha and Chris Hekman, and Chad and Fran Buyze. Her three great granddaughters Leah, Lauren and Lindsay were the joy of her life. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Doris was a member of a group of ladies calling themselves " The Twerps Club". Doris loved making treats and trying new recipes. She did love to tell stories about working at The Fulton Street Five and Dime. She knew her customers likes and dislikes and made many friends while working there. Donation in lieu of flowers can be made to, Covenant House, Salvation Army or Guiding Light. Private family services will be held at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
