Doris Jean Calvert,
89, of Terra Alta, formerly Morgantown, passed away Tuesday March 19, 2024 with loving family and Hospice by her side.

She graduated from Terra Atla High School and Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg. Jean worked her entire career at Montgomery Ward in downtown Morgantown.
She was a long-time faithful member of the Spruce Street Methodist Church, Morgantown, having served specifically with the United Methodist Women's organization.
After ending a long high school romantic friendship in 1955 with Harrison A. Sisler, Jr., the couple resumed their friendship after 58 years and were married in 2013.
Jean was an avid knitter, diligently worked crossword puzzles, exerted effort in being kind, and cared dearly for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Harrison A. Sisler, Jr., sister-in-law and husband, Nancy and Maurice Hoffman, of Terra Alta; nieces Patricia Jean (Scott) Fleming of Tampa, FL, Frances (Brian) Dinnan of Cadillac, MI; nephews, Howard Loughry, Jr., of Chelsea, MI and Richard Loughry of Brighton, MI; step daughter, Lucinda (Allan) Cartwright and step-son, Harrison A. (Dawn) Sisler, III, all of Terra Alta; and many step nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Ann Calvert, and Eleanor Frances Calvert.
Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 and from noon on Friday March 22, 2024, until the 1:00 p.m. time of service with Rev. Kevin Keplinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
