Doris Adena Reed was born on April 7, 1930 to Eddie and Naomi Reed in Alva Oklahoma. She passed away in the early morning hours of May 14, 2025 at her daughter's house where she lived with her daughter and sister.
Doris, was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and friend. She will be missed terribly but we know she was ready to join her parents, husband, her son's, son in law, grandson and great grandson in heaven.
Doris, attended grade school in Farry Oklahoma. She had 4 sisters and 4 brothers who she helped raise. She was always mothering everyone throughout her life. She was more like a mother to her youngest siblings than a sister in so many ways.
She married at the age of 18 and had 5 children. Four boys and one girl. Vernon, Butch, Les, Ramona, and Mike. Eleven years later she found her forever love, and her five children found their Daddy, Harold Cellan. Doris and Harold married on February 13, 1959. The couple lived in Alva Oklahoma, where they raised their children. Doris opened a childcare when her children were teenagers. She ran the daycare until she was eighty five years old. She babysit multiple generations of Alva's children and loved each and every one of them. She loved fiercely and without condition.
Doris, enjoyed doing crafts like quilting, embroidery, and sewing however crocheting was her favorite which she still did till a week before her passing. One of her great grandson's once said "if we were to line up all the blankets she had crocheted over the years we could make it all the way to Texas."
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and step father, three brothers, two sisters, three sons, a son in law, grandson and great grandson.
She is survived by a very large loving family, many friends and loved ones.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to her Love Fund at Wharton Funeral Chapel.
