Born in Salem, MA, on June 21,1931 to the late Harold and Beatrice (Stanchfield) McSwiggin.
Doris was the wife of the late Joaquim De Almeida Jr with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Penny was a wonderful caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, from times at the family camp in Shapleigh ME, to playing tennis with her friends.
Penny served as a Warden in Rowley for many years as well as working at Pine Grove School. She was also a member of the NESMA Racing Association for many years where she wrote for the weekly racing program and was known as 'PAD'.
Doris is survived by her three children; Delores Felch and husband Charlie of Seabrook NH, daughter Tina Cole and Frank Emmith of Freedom NH, and her son Joaquim 'Jackie' De Almeida lll of Rowley with whom she lived, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Peter McSwiggin of Middleton, lifelong family friend, Robert 'Bob' Pompey of Maine; several other dear friends; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Forcier.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 5-8 p.m., at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Saint Marys Church, Main Street, Rowley. Interment will follow at Rowley Burial Ground.
