Doris McMillan Edenfield, 84, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away at Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
She was born on September 25, 1941, to Herman and Stallie McMillan. She was a graduate of Sneads High School. She married the love of her life, Ronald DeWayne Edenfield Sr., on February 8, 1966. She worked, for a short time, at Warner Brothers Sewing Factory. Then, she went to work at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida. She then transferred to the Department of Corrections, retiring from there as a sergeant in 2003 after 36 years of service. She raised three boys, Ronald DeWayne Edenfield, Jr., Donald Lyn Edenfield, and Darrel Mac Edenfield, while being a mother figure to countless others. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for her entire family and welcomed anyone to her table. Salem Wesleyan Church was her home church, where she attended most of her life.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Edenfield; parents, Herman and Stallie McMillan; sisters, Naomi McMillan, Beatrice Gilley, and Mildred Lawson; and brother, Buddy McMillan; all of Grand Ridge, FL.
She is survived by her three sons, Wayne Edenfield, Donald Edenfield, and Mac Edenfield (Katricia); five grandchildren, Blake Edenfield, Blaire Fisher (Matt), Payton Edenfield, Zack Edenfield, and Jake Edenfield; two great-grandchildren, Brett and Brody Fisher; brother, James McMillan (Dee Dee); sister, Jean Wyckoff; sister-in-law, Ima Jean Banks; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all of the staff at Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center. They did a phenomenal job of taking care of Doris for over seven years. She considered them family and loved them with all of her heart.
Funeral service will be 11 AM, Monday, November 24, 2025, at Salem Wesleyan Church with Reverends Bill Mayo and Kelvin Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Wesleyan Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
