Doris S. Escalante

Doris S. Escalante, aged 72, from Victoria, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Austin, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1953, to the late Felix Sanchez, Sr. and Aurora Villarreal Sanchez.

Doris had a passion for shopping at Ross and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She found joy in cooking for her grandchildren. Additionally, she enjoyed visiting Aldi's and attending garage sales. Dining out with family was another activity she relished. Doris also loved visiting friends, engaging in conversations, or meeting them for lunch.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM, at Grace Funeral Home in Victoria. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Grace Funeral Home, located at 2401 Houston Hwy, Victoria, Texas. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery.

To honor her memory, Doris is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Shine, Erica Sanchez, and Thelma Escalante (Sammy); her sons, Steve Escalante, Jr., Joe Louis Sanchez, Sr., and Alvin Escalante, Sr. (Brianna); her sister, Irene Saldana; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Escalante, Sr., her daughter, Alma Escalante; and her brothers, Felix Sanchez, Jr. and Pete Sanchez.
