Doris Marie Foster, 73-year-old Pryor resident, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, surrounded by family. Doris was born September 9, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James and Marie (George) Barton. She married the love of her life, Larry Foster on January 4, 1973. They had known each other all their lives and were sweethearts since the age of twelve.
Doris enjoyed collecting butterflies, watching westerns, and wrestling shows. She enjoyed her garden, which Larry would plant for her, especially the roses. She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed shopping. Doris was also extremely proud to be a veterans wife.
Doris was an adventurer at heart, and she loved to travel. Manitou, Colorado was her favorite place to visit. She also had a love for animals and enjoyed visiting the zoo. These two loves would merge, and many trips involved visiting different zoos and making wonderful memories such as feeding the giraffes and going to the bear sanctuary in South Dakota.
Doris also had a childlike love for Christmas and all that it involved. One of her favorite things to do during Christmas was to see the different Christmas lights around Pryor and the neighboring areas. Most of all, Doris had a deep faith and loved God and worshiping Him. She attended church faithfully as her health would allow.
Doris is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; son, Norman, of the home; daughter, Karen Feather and husband Ralph of Eucha, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Dakota Feather and fiancé Reagan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Cheyenne Feather of Eucha, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Michael, and Rhonda Barton; brother, Richard Barton; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth, and Rachel Barton; and niece, Navita Barton.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Extreme Church in Pryor. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Extreme Church in Pryor with Pastor Ronnie Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with Jamie Terry, Shane McKenzie, RJ Foster, Junior Rose, TJ Foster, and Gary Treas serving as casket bearers.
