Kenneth Lee Trude, age 71, passed away on January 20, 2026. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, father-in-law, and great-grandfather.
Kenneth was born on December 12, 1954, in Nowata, Oklahoma. A man who lived life with a pen in his shirt pocket, a comb in his jeans, and enough positive energy to light up the entire state of Oklahoma, Kenneth brought joy, kindness, and a helping hand to everyone he met.
He was a proud veteran who served his country before returning home to build a life defined by hard work and devotion to family. Many in the Vinita community will remember Kenneth from his decades of dedicated service as a maintenance worker and janitor for Vinita Public Schools.
While Kenneth held many jobs throughout his life, his favorite roles were “Grandpa” and “Great-Grandpa.” Whether he was fishing, admiring classic cars, or sitting down to play video games with the kids, his world revolved around his family. He had a rare, infectious joy that stayed with you long after he left the room. Whenever Kenneth came to visit, you had to catch the stories while you could — because he was always on to the next adventure.
Kenneth left an everlasting mark on every heart he encountered. His legacy lives on through his only daughter, her children, and his many great-grandchildren — along with the hard work, kindness, laughter, and reminder that life is meant to be lived at full speed.
He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched in Vinita and beyond. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at a later date.
