Doris Giles Obituary
Doris was born in Lawrence, MA on January 13, 1938, the daughter of the late William E. and Anna (Casse) Sullivan. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and has resided in Methuen for the past 60 years.
Doris held family close and thoroughly enjoyed attending all events. She was a parishioner of St. Lucy Church in Methuen and prior to retirement was a record keeper at Merrimack News in Lawrence and later worked part-time as a pharmacist assistant for Rite-Aid in Andover.
Doris loved travelling with her husband, Richard, especially to Foxwoods and Las Vegas. Later in life, she kept busy at the Methuen Senior Center and was very involved with the "Moving-On Group", a bereavement program she held close to her heart. She looked forward to her Wednesday lunches with her friends and enjoyed the opportunity to play 45's and Bingo at the Methuen Senior Center. She always took part in any bus trips to local Casinos.
Doris is survived by her sister Gertrude (Sullivan) Sirois and her husband Jerry, her Godchild /Niece Darlene (Sirois) Thibodeau and her husband Kevin all of Londonderry NH, and Darlene's two children Derek D'Anna, his wife Amanda, their children Cameron, Laila and Lincoln and Stacey Brunelle, her husband Jonathan, their children Bentley and Gianna all of New Hampshire; niece Sharon (Amante) Tovey of North Hampton, her children as well as other great nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Giles.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Beaudin and the nursing staff in the ICU at Merrimack Health Methuen Hospital for their exceptional care during Doris' stay.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Lucy Parish, 254 Merrimack St, Methuen, MA, with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
