Our beautiful mother, Doris Marie Duke Yarbrough Mims Gill went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 87.

Doris was born in Huntsville, Texas on August 18, 1937 to Jeff and Cora Duke.

Doris loved being out in public. She spoke to everyone, which made her an amazing waitress. A profession that she loved for over 50 years.

She also enjoyed going to church. She was an active attender of Huntsville Assembly of God, Calvary Tabernacle, and Victory Assembly of God.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed listening to her records and albums, going shopping, getting her hair done, talking on the phone with family and friends, and sitting outside watching the babies swing. She loved it when the babies were with her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Cora Duke; her daughters, Judy and Elizabeth; her husband Thomas "Eddie" Mims; husband, Nolan Gill; and her siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Mims and wife Nohemi, Craig Mims, Randall Mims and wife Valerie, and David Yarbrough and wife Cheryl; daughters, Cynthia Reynolds and husband Kenneth, Sherrie Yarbrough, Pamela Jones, Tammie Goodrow; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A special recognition to the following people for countless hours of giving the best care and devotion to Mama in her final days, Angela Belcher, Andrea Tyndall, Alicia Carpenter, your help was invaluable to Nanny, and everyone from Heart to Heart that took care of her and loved her.

It's not goodbye forever, it's until we see her again. We couldn't have asked for a better Mom. Happy thoughts, love you.

We don't mourn as those who have no hope.
