Doris E. Gosciniak (nee Peters) a 70 year resident of Maple Shade passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years of age and born in Philadelphia on May 6, 1930 to the late Albert and Laura Peters. She proudly served her country in the US Naval Reserve WAVES in Willow Grove, Pa. Doris was formerly employed in the Export Department at Sears & Roebuck Co on the Boulevard and as a retail associate for Strawbridge and Clothier in Cherry Hill.
Doris was a very active and devout parishioner over the years of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade. She served as past president and treasurer of the Altar & Rosary Society and sang in the choir. Doris sang and danced in many Knights of Columbus shows performed at the church in years past, and also taught tap dancing to OLPH grade school children. In her spare time she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and crypto quotes. Doris was known for her outgoing personality and took great pleasure keeping in touch with her family and friends during her lifetime.
Beloved wife of the late Leon J. Gosciniak, Sr., loving mother of Diane Gosciniak (Pat Nuzzi), Leon J., Jr. (Kathleen) Gosciniak, Albert (Carolyn) Gosciniak, and Sharon (Todd) Venezia, dear sister of Laura Ann (the late Jack) Love, cherished grandmother of Michelle Gosciniak, Shaina Venezia, Samantha Venezia, Gabrielle Gosciniak and her husband Jack Ryan, Marissa Gosciniak, Matthew (Catherine) Gosciniak and Alexander Gosciniak, adored great grandmother of Hailey Noel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and visitation with her family on Monday August 19th 10-11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 East Main Street, Maple Shade. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM following the visitation. Interment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris's name to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at the above address. Arrangements by the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Maple Shade.
