Doris Graham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes- Holt Delhi Chapel on Sep. 27, 2024.
Doris Anna Graham (maiden name Nelson) was born May 25, 1925 to the late Albert and Laura Nelson. She graduated from Webberville High School in 1943 and went to work for Consumers Power.
On September 18, 1948 Doris married William "Bill" Graham. Together they raised three children: Susan, Janet and William (Billy). When the children were all in school, Doris began working for Lansing Public Schools in the cafeteria, starting at North Elementary and moving to Everett High School where she remained until she retired.
Bill and Doris were married almost 70 years when Bill passed away just five weeks shy of their 70th anniversary. Since then, Doris has lived her best life (as "best" she could without Bill by her side) at Great Lakes Christian Home in Holt. She particularly loved Bingo, trips to Culvers, and playing Unlucky Seven with all her girlfriends.
Doris passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024 with her daughter and granddaughter each holding one of her hands.
Doris is predeceased by her granddaughter Lisa Humphrey (2007), her sister Viva Robinson (2014), her daughter Janet Graham (2017), and her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Bill Graham (2018).
She is survived by two children, Susan Graham of Dimondale, and Bill (Jean) Graham of New Palestine, IN; three grandchildren Amy (Dan) Gilmore of Lansing, Michael (Kate) Graham of New Palestine, IN, and Jennifer (Austin) Bello of Wahiawa, HI; and six great-grandchildren of whom she was so proud: Sean & Evan Gilmore; Madelyn, Eli, and Hudson Graham; and Luke Bello.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior.
