NEW PARIS -- Doris Kay Hensley, age 72, of Fairborn, Ohio, formerly of New Paris, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Doris was born November 13, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Virgil Oscar and Doris Winifred Flitcraft Sayers. She received an associate's degree and worked at Reid Health in respiratory care. Doris was always kind and compassionate to everyone. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, crocheting, and reading the Bible. Doris loved sharing her faith and being motherly to everyone. She loved baking and was known for her fudge and friendship bread.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa (Andrew) Shackelford, and Lora (Shannon) Estepp; son, Jerry (Tracy) Hensley Jr.; grandchildren, Bradley (Stephanie) Hensley, Hannah Shackelford, Jenna Estepp, and Katelyn Estepp; great grandchild, Peter Hensley; sister, Karen Sayers; and brothers, Robin, Brice (Cindy) and Ricky Sayers; niece, Mary (Robert) Schwier; nephew, Tyler Sayers; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved cat, Justus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hensley Sr.; brother, Virgil Sayers; parents; and stepfather, Robert Foster.
Visitation for Doris Kay Hensley will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (High Noon) Friday, February 6, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
