Doris M. Higbee

Doris M. (Bradley) Higbee, age 92, of Milford passed away on October 25, 2022 at Advinia Healthcare, in Northbridge with her family by her side. She recently celebrated her 62nd wedding anniversary with her husband Thomas Higbee on October 1st.
Doris was born on August 26, 1930 in Waltham to the late James T. and Mary (Garvey) Bradley of Newtonville where she grew up.
She graduated from Newton High School in 1948 and then from the former Fisher Jr. College, in Boston. She was employed at Raytheon Corp. for many years as a petty cash supervisor. Later, she worked as a maintenance secretary for the Fessenden School in Newton. Throughout her children's childhood, Doris volunteered as both a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader,
In later years, Doris enjoyed volunteering at the Milford Senior Center, and in 2014, she was selected as the Milford Senior Citizen of the Year. She enjoyed watching the Boston sports teams and was never at a loss to offer her insights.
In addition to her husband Thomas, she is survived by her children, Thomas J. Higbee, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Maureen A Higbee and Derek J. Higbee; one granddaughter, Katherine, and many nieces and nephews. Earlier this year, she was predeceased by her brother James T. Bradley, Jr.
A visiting hour will be held on Wed. Nov. 9, 2022 from 10 – 11 AM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford followed by a graveside funeral service at 11:30 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar Street, Rte. 85, Milford.
