Doris E. Hinkle, 88, of Lansdale, PA, formerly of Lower Gwynedd, PA died on December 22, 2023 at Brittany Pointe Estates where she has been living the past few years. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Hinkle. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 21, 1935 to the late Edwin and Jeanette (Lambert) Glaser. Doris was raised in the Fernrock section of Philadelphia and was a graduate of Olney High School. She was later employed as a Sales Associate for Strawbridge and Clothiers in Plymouth Meeting, PA in the women's petite sportswear section for nearly 40 years until retirement. Doris was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lansdale where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and time with her Mahjong club. She also adored her pet dogs.
Doris is survived by her son Steven D. Hinkle (Salma) of Lansdale, PA, two daughters Susan H. Zukawski (the late Jim) of Wildwood, NJ, Sheri L. Antonucci (Ralph) of Ambler, PA, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a brother Edwin Glaser (Sandy) of Bensalem, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9-10 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
