Doris Faye Holloway was born on February 24, 1941, to Mary Lee Humphrey and Albert Holloway, Sr., in the small community of Stranger near Marlin, Texas. Affectionately known as "Dar Faye," she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas, under the pastoral guidance of the late Rev. Hogan Guy.

Doris received her early education at Commerce Street School and later attended Booker T. Washington High School in Marlin, TX. It was there that she met and later married Charles Earl Mason. To their union three children were born.

Doris later married Sargent Major Abe Wes and together a fourth child was born. Through the military they traveled the world and raised a family. Doris's life was a testament to love, service, and compassion. She devoted herself to caring for children, working as a caregiver for families across Nevada, Ohio, and Texas. With a heart always open, she extended her love far beyond her immediate family by serving as a foster parent to more than thirty children throughout her lifetime. Even those who struggled most found comfort in calling her "Mama Doris," a name that carried deep affection and respect.

Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, Doris never met a stranger. She was a kindhearted and friendly soul who cherished her family passionately and embraced every opportunity to pour love into those around her.

Doris also carried herself with a regal presence, marked by style and grace, and she naturally commanded the attention of all who shared her company. Like her mother, she possessed a unique gift for transforming what others might discard into something of beauty and value. Her creativity found expression in many forms, particularly in her love for sewing, painting, and decorating.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. To her family, she was a source of strength and joy; to her friends, she was a confidante and encourager; and to the many children whose lives she touched, she was a guiding light and her home a safe haven. Doris's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee and Albert Holloway, Sr., Charles Mason, Retired SGM Abe West, her sisters: Emma Jean, Johnetta, and Troya.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl Denise Cavitt (John) of Killeen, TX, Boris Earl Mason of Mesquite, TX, Billye Charles Mason of Terrell, TX, Albert Douglas "Doug" West (Toinette) of San Antonio, TX, Deborah West Williams of Killeen, TX, and Dwayne Patton Turner West of Washington, D.C. Her siblings, Albert Holloway, Jr. of Milton, GA, Vera Holloway of Garland, TX, Glenda Jackson Andress (Joseph) of Missouri City, TX, Linda "Binky" Jackson of Woodway, TX, Prentice Jackson of Dallas, TX and a host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with a vast array of extended family of relatives and friends, as well as all whose lives were deeply enriched by her presence.
