Doris Ann Horvath, 96, of Scottsburg, Indiana, a beloved mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1928, in Marietta, Ohio, to the late Dudley D. Wright and Modge "Bonnie" (Bonnett) Wright. She worked for over thirty years as the head cook at Reynoldsburg Middle School and was a long-time member of the American Martyr's Catholic Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. Doris was known not only for her talent in the kitchen but also for her love of working, which she embraced wholeheartedly throughout her life. In her downtime, she found joy in simple pleasures, often enjoying a refreshing Natural Light as she relaxed at home. In addition to her parents and late husband, Frank Horvath, Doris was preceded in death by her two sons, Richard James Horvath and Michael James Horvath; and two grandchildren, Kevin and Tonya. Doris is survived by her devoted son, James (Cassie) Horvath; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Messages of condolence and remembrance may be shared at www.collinsfuneralhome.net. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Collins Funeral Home of Scottsburg. Memorial donations can be made in Doris's name to the American Martyr's Catholic Church in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
