Doris I. Hunter, 78, of Pilot Mound, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa.
A private graveside inurnment will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is assisting the family.
Doris Irene Hoag, daughter of John and Iva (Blue) Hoag was born on October 10, 1946, in Calamus, Iowa. Doris attended school until the 10th grade and then at the age of 53, she earned her G.E.D.
In September of 1986, Doris was united in marriage to Michael “Mick” Hunter in Ogden, Iowa. The couple made their home in Pilot Mound. Doris worked for over 13 years at Archway Cookies in Boone and over 10 years at Gates Corporation also in Boone.
In addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her husband, Mick Hunter; her daughter in infancy, Lee Ann; two sisters, Mavis Lorraine and Grace Eleanor; and her brother, Louis Ray.
Survivors include her step daughter, Julie Hunter of Red Bluff, CA; six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; her brother, Jack Robert Hoag; and her sister, Carrol Fern.
The family requests no memorials.
