Linda Louise Hackman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and faithful servant of Christ, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on December 19, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on August 23, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, Linda was the cherished daughter of Rudy H. Maas and Ruth I. George Maas. She grew up with a deep love for her hometown—a devotion she carried throughout her life as an ardent supporter of the Detroit Tigers and a proud Detroiter.

On December 7, 1964, Linda married the love of her life, Gary Hackman, with whom she shared 56 years of partnership, laughter, and devotion until Gary’s passing on March 2, 2021. Together they built both a beautiful family and a thriving business, Hackman Carpet Company, where Linda’s steady hand and welcoming spirit helped make the company a trusted name in their community.

Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three sons—Stephen, Andrew, and Matthew—as well as her six cherished grandchildren, one treasured great-grandchild, and her loving sister, Laura Bebee. She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Maas. She was a constant source of wisdom, prayer, and unconditional love, and her family will carry her example of faith and strength with them always.

A devoted Christian, Linda lived out her beliefs through service and compassion. She was a faithful member of her church and participated in numerous Christian ministries, including short-term missionary trips to Africa and China, where she shared the message of Christ’s love and hope with people around the world.

Linda will be remembered for her nurturing heart, steadfast faith, and unshakable optimism. Whether she was tending to her home, helping customers at Hackman Carpet, or cheering on the Tigers from her living room, she brought warmth, grace, and kindness to all who knew her.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Linda’s life and faith at a memorial service to be announced by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a Christian mission organization of your choice, continuing Linda’s lifelong commitment to sharing the Good News.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
