Doris Marilyn Jacob

Doris Marilyn Jacob, of Westfield, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 90 years of age on January 21, 2026. She was born in Cissna Park, Illinois to Laura (Young) and Henry Hodel.

She is survived by her 5 children, Debbie (JJ) Schramm of Spokane, WA, Vickie (Dan) Craig of Schererville, IN, Brian Jacob of Ottawa, IL, Todd (Lynne) Jacob of North Bend, WA, and Janel (Matthew) Deck of Westfield, IN. She also has 12 grandchildren: Josh Schramm, Amy Schramm, Erin LaRue, Leah Webb, Matthew Cluver, Sarah Gunderson, Sadie Jacob, Emily Lewis, Adam Jacob, Tara Cole, Nick Jacob, Lindsay Deck and Natalie Deck and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Brenda (Les) Kimmel, and her brother Ken (Jan) Hodel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Kevin Jacob, her sister Betty Lithgow, and her brother Larry Hodel.

She was a farm girl at heart and loved gardening and growing gorgeous flowers. Her favorite pastimes were playing hand and foot at the clubhouse with her neighbors, playing games on her iPad with friends and family, and watching Hallmark movies. She was a huge baseball fan and an avid Cubbies fan, following every single game.

Through the years she attended many Bible studies and you would find her every morning with her Bible in hand, having her devotions. She loved Jesus with her whole heart, and her faith guided her life. She faithfully supported her church and missionaries throughout the years.

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” Romans 5:1

A celebration of life will be held February 21, 2026 at 11:00am at Cornerstone Bible Church, 720 Liberty Drive, Westfield, IN. 46074.
