Barbara Jacob Obituary
"Bobbie," as she was affectionately called, is the eldest daughter of the late John Thomas Sedgwick and the late Gertrude Virginia Brooks-Peterson. Of this union, she is predeceased by her sister, Alice Marie Briddell, and is survived by her sister, Helen Sampson, and her half-siblings, Rebecca Sedgwick, Darryl Sedgwick, and Jason Sedgwick.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of sixty-five years Howard M. Jacob, Jr.; five children, Pamela Morris (Tony), Veronica Mitchell (Kevin), Howard R. Jacob III, Michael Jacob, and Vincent Jacob; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; aunt Margaret Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Grafton Baptist Church Harris Grove, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, VA.

Thanks for your kindness. Your family so loving and kind. I met you all thru my marriage to your cousin Steve in the military for many years we chatted your Mom and I at the commissary we always saw one another often on her lunch breaks and what not. May the Good Lord bless and strengthen you all. Shirley and family.
