Doris was born on August 21, 1943, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Lucille “Lu” (DeMuth) Busch. She married the love of her life, Earl Jansen, on August 7, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin.
Doris was a proud graduate of St. Clare Academy and continued her education at the Sinsinawa Mound, focusing on bookkeeping. A gifted crocheter and knitter, she found joy in creating things with her hands and sharing those creations by giving them to her nieces and nephews. Doris married young, but her commitment and devotion helped her and Earl build a beautiful life together over 63 years. They worked side by side on their second-generation family farm, where Doris helped with everything from milking cows to driving tractors—all while faithfully keeping a warm, home-cooked meal ready for her family each day. Family meant everything to her, and she was always willing to do anything for the people she loved. She enjoyed gardening and canning, tending to her plants with the same care she offered those around her. Doris also worked for 18 years at Walmart, where she made many cherished friendships. Her legacy is one of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to family.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Jansen; her children, Ron Jansen, Dubuque, IA, Julie (Paul) Mowbray, Cuba City, WI, and Lori (Dale Kress) Wilson, Hazel Green, WI; her siblings, Merlin (Janilda) Busch, Dickeyville, WI, Janet (Tom) Timmerman, Cuba City, WI, Danny (Joyce) Busch, Mary Kay (Gary) McCartney, both of Kieler, WI, Jean (Bob) Vogt, Dale (Deb) Busch, both of Hazel Green, WI, Karen (Ron) Larson, East Dubuque, IL, and Patty (Brett) Clark, Platteville, WI; her grandchildren, Jen Mowbray and Justin (Lexi Graham) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Busch; her sister, Sr. Ann Busch; her brother, William “Bill” (Jolene “Cookie”) Busch; and her son-in-law, Rob Wilson.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be sent in Doris’ name to Casey-McNett Funeral Home, 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.
The family would like to thank the staff of MercyOne Medical Center, the Dickeyville Rescue Squad, and family friends, Chris and Jerry Brant, for all their compassionate care of Doris.
