Doris L. Jonas

Doris L. Jonas, age 92, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Stoney River Assisted Living, after a recent diagnosis of cancer.
Doris was born on January 16, 1931, in Hewitt, the daughter of Frank and Colletta (Durst) Rau. She graduated from St. Lawrence Parochial School in Wisconsin Rapids and then attended Marshfield Senior High School. She married Walter W. Jonas on October 11, 1951, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield.
Doris had been employed at various places including Shopko for 13 years and then at Wickersham Jewelry Store, both in Marshfield. She was a devoted mother and housewife who was proud of her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her children, Randy, Ken (Marcy), Charles (Lynn), Bonnie (Jeff), Debbie (Matt), Sandi (Mark) and Kevin. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters Rita (John), Pat, Betty and brother Doug.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wally, her parents and numerous brothers, sisters, and in-laws.
Visitation will be held at Rembs Funeral Home on Monday, January 8th starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and a light lunch at Rembs Celebration Center. A private burial for immediate family will be held on Tuesday, January 9th.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be designated by the family at a later date.
