Doris Lee Kilgore

Doris Lee Kilgore, age 98, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Sonora, California. Born on October 11, 1926, in Dallas, Texas, Doris lived a long and full life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Throughout her nearly century-long journey, Doris remained deeply connected to the people and values that shaped her. Doris was proceeded in death by her late husbands James Walker and William Kilgore. She was a devoted mother to her three sons: James Walker and his wife Charlene of Discovery Bay, California, Charles Walker and his wife Mary Ann of Long Barn, California, and Robert Walker and his wife Roxanna of Tuolumne, California. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Doris was a woman of strong faith who attended church regularly. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity and provided her with strength and comfort throughout the years. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodges-organizations that reflected her commitment to fellowship and service.

A lover of travel, Doris found joy in exploring new places and experiencing the world beyond her doorstep. Whether near or far, she embraced each journey with enthusiasm. At home, she cherished the companionship of her beloved cats, whose presence brought warmth and comfort to her daily life.

Family meant everything to Doris. She held close bonds with those she loved and took great pride in watching her family grow across generations. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
