Doris Kirouac Obituary

KIROUAC (Faddis), Doris

Doris Ann Faddis Kirouac, 82, of Duluth, Georgia, passed peacefully on April 27, 2025, with her husband, Lou Kirouac, by her side. Born in Knoxville, on April 15, 1943, to Herman Riley Faddis and Mary Estelle Phillips Faddis, she was the second youngest of eight children raised in a home where faith and family came first. Doris was admired as a beauty queen, appreciated as a Delta stewardess, respected in banking, and valued as a Duluth City Councilor. However, the roles she cherished most were those within her family: wife, mother, sister, daughter, and Mémère.

She was married to the love of her life, Lou, for over 56 years. Together, they poured their hearts into raising their sons, Kirk and Brandon, while keeping the memory of their beloved son, Kevin, close in all they did. The strength, kindness, and faith Doris and Lou passed down live on through their family and will carry on for generations.

Doris is survived by her husband, Lou Kirouac; sons, Kirk and Brandon Kirouac; grandchildren, Cole, Kennedy, Emmalynn, and Annakate Kirouac; sister, Linda Faddis Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was welcomed into heaven by her son, Kevin; her parents, her brother, and her sisters.

In lieu of a formal service or flowers, the family welcomes donations to the March of Dimes in memory of Kevin, whose brief but meaningful life reminded them of the preciousness of every moment, and to CURE Childhood Cancer in honor of Kennedy, a childhood leukemia survivor whose strength is a daily reminder never to take life for granted.

My prayers and sympathies go out to Doris and her family at this time. I served on Duluth´s city council with her for many years. She was always positive, honest and always kept the city´s betterment in mind when handling city affairs. I will miss her as a true friend. Thank you for your service and may you rest in peace with Jesus our Savior.
