Doris Ann Leupp
d. December 23, 2025
Doris A. Leupp born on June 24, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on December 23, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM.
Doris was the beloved daughter of Judge William Leupp and Lenora Little-Creek- Leupp. Doris was part of the Navajo (Red and Black streak Clan) and Shawnee (Racoon clan) tribes. She graduated from Window Rock High School and pursued higher education at The University of New Mexico. Doris began her teaching career with Albuquerque Public Schools in 1987 and dedicated her 27 years as a kindergarten teacher at Lowell Elementary School, Edward Gonzales Elementary School and Helen Codero Primary School. Doris also taught at The American School in London (UK) from 1996- 1997. She loved and cared for each and every one of her many students (even after business hours).
For three decades, Doris shared her life with her partner, Gary Ipiotis. Together they built a life raising their daughter and grandchildren. Doris was also blessed and extremely excited to welcome two great grandchildren last year. Doris loved to travel, bake, hike, and explore. Doris fondest memories were of hiking in places stretching from New Zealand to the Sandias. Her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were blessed with a life of love, endless baked goods, and learning opportunities (as Doris made this an important activity in anything she did). Doris was a dear friend to many and a mentor to many of her colleagues and students. Doris was such a loving motherly spirit she quickly became every one’s “Mama Dukes” leaving many hearts touched with her motherly empathy, love, advice, and plate of food for “lunch tomorrow”.
Doris is proceeded in death by her father Judge William Leupp, her sister Caroline “Leah” Leupp, and her brother Francis Leupp. She is survived by her mother Lenora Leupp; her partner Gary Ipiotis; her daughter Kelly Analla; Grandchildren Phoenix, Israel, and Miranda; and her Great Grandchildren Anthony (“AJ”) Jr. and Alina.
A Rosary and funeral service to honor Doris’s life will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105). Rosary will begin at 10:15 and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on February 5th, 2025. A luncheon will proceed beginning at 12:30 pm at American Legion Post 72 (5107 Central Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 ).
Doris will be entered into eternal rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (date to be announced)
