Doris Gertrude Loscig

1926 - 2022

Doris Gertrude (Stephens) Loscig, 95, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on March 2, 2022. She was the wife of the late Howard I. Loscig Jr., with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. Born in Fallsdale, PA, on November 21, 1926, Doris was the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Rolston) Stephens. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s landscape and nursery business, Point-O-View, and was an active member of Cedarville United Methodist Church where she participated in the sewing club. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. Doris is lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia & Ole Wergeland, Reading, PA, and Roxann & John DeCarlo, Ephrata, PA; her grandchildren, Krista (& Joe) Miller, Birdsboro, PA, Lesley (& Ken) Bixler, Temple, PA, Christopher (& Heather) DeCarlo, Douglassville, PA, Elissa (& David) Snavely, Mount Joy, PA, Paul DeCarlo, Glenmoore, PA, and Ditlef (& Jen) Wergeland, Douglassville, PA; her great-grandchildren, Justin, Drew, Emily, Lexie, Nicholas, Graham, Abigail, Dahlia, Julia, Leif, and Dominic; her nieces and nephew, Margaret Crum, Katie Stephens, and John Stephens; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Doris is predeceased by her sister, Lucille Griffith; her brothers, Merlin and Stanley Stephens; and her grandson, Erik Wergeland. A viewing will take place on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place after the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery & Mausoleum, 225 E. Schuylkill Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465.
