Doris Workman Magowan, Age 90, passed away at her home in Apopka on July 27th 2025. She was born Virginia Doris Workman on May 30th 1935 in Brooksville, Kentucky. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many. Among her many talents was her love and passion for cooking and reading. Doris and her husband David spent nearly half of their married life in Sebring, Florida. Doris was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Sebring. She had a huge heart for people with special needs and was a longtime supporter of ARC in Highlands County. Doris and David celebrated more than 66 years of marriage.
They moved to Apopka, Florida in 2020 where they lived with their daughter and son-in-law until her passing.
Doris is survived by her husband David of Apopka, daughter Joy Cozart and husband (John) of Apopka, granddaughters Melissa Tolson and Amanda Evans of Apopka, great grandchildren Emma Evans, Ainsley Tolson and Kalum Crane of Apopka.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otis and Virginia, sisters Inez McGee and Mildred Hamilton, brother Harold Workman and her two adult sons, Johnny and Jeff Magowan.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday August 9th 2025, at First Baptist Tangerine located at 6551 Sadler Rd., Mount Dora, Florida 32757 www.fbtangerine.org
