Doris M. Maiers

Doris M. Maiers, 93, of Hazlet N.J. passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. Doris was born in Newark, NJ to the late John and Catherine Chmielecki. Doris married her true love of 74 years Arthur Charles in 1951. They moved to Hazlet, NJ in 1957 to raise their three sons. Doris, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, watching game shows and her favorite baseball team the NY Yankees. Doris is survived by her sons Brian (Sheila) Maiers of North Carolina and Ken (Christine) Maiers of Hazlet, NJ. She is the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren; Brian (Stephanie), Kristin (Mark), Stacie, Arthur J., Kenny, Lauren, Danny and two great grandchildren Madison and Ruth. She is also survived by her beloved sister Ruthie Harris. Doris was predeceased by her husband Art, son Arthur and sister Catherine Cardillo. Visitation will be held Saturday July 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a prayer service at 12:00 PM at the Day Funeral Home Keyport, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
