Doris Lois McCormick

Memorial services for DORIS LOIS (FRERICHS) MCCORMICK, 82, will be held 1pm Friday January 5, 2024, at the United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Wayland officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Doris passed away December 19, 2023, at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. Doris was born April 22, 1941, at the family farm in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Harm J. and Sena (Lambertus)
Frerichs. She received her education and graduated from Ogallala High School with the Class of 1958.
After high school, Doris attended beauty school and became a cosmetologist.
Doris married Larry McCormick on June 30, 1963, in Ogallala. They were blessed with three children, Brian, Molly and Megan. The family moved to Torrington in 1981.
While raising her family, Doris was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing in various bridge groups, and was active in multiple United Methodist Church women's groups, PEO, and Homemakers Club. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and took pride in watching them in all of their activities as they grew.
Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry; her three children, Brian (Sue) McCormick of
Thornton, Colorado; Molly (Rob) Moorehouse of Torrington; and Megan Wagner of Lingle, Wyoming.
Doris was loved by her seven grandchildren, Bo, Michaela, Marissa, and Ryan Moorehouse, and
Matthew, Brady, and Micah Wagner; sisters Verna (Jack) Hildebrand of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Elda (Orval)
Dehning of Lee Summit, Missouri; sister-in-law Ruth Frerichs of Ogallala, Nebraska; and many nieces and
nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
