William Lloyd Schmidt

Memorial services for WILLIAM LLOYD SCHMIDT, 82, will be held at 9am Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Bill died January 29, 2026, at Torrington Community Hospital and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the EWC Cosmetology Department. A Rosary will be held at 8:30am prior to the mass. Bill was born March 30, 1943, in Hoven, South Dakota, the son of Lawrence and Agnes (Bause) Schmidt. He grew up and received his early education in Hoven. He attended Stewart's School of Hair Styling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and then went into partnership with the Beauty School of Fashion in Casper, Wyoming. He married Sue Erickson in 1981. They moved to Torrington, Wyoming in 1983 for him to become the Director of Cosmetology at Eastern Wyoming College. After retirement in 2007 he continued to work at the student center serving the famous "Bill Burger".

Bill loved spending time with family and friends on the golf course and at the Country Club. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons compete in sports and doing yard work. He was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church and the Country Club.

Bill is survived by his wife Sue of Torrington, Wyoming; son Ryan (Kate) Schmidt of Evanston, Wyoming; daughters Shelly (Don) Custer and Jill (Ken) Mobeck both of Longwood, Florida; grandsons Brady and Dylan Schmidt and Tanner Custer; granddaughters Tiffany (Jon) Revels and Sara Mobeck; and great granddaughter Remi Lynn Revels.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Larry Schmidt; and a sister-in-law Eleanor Schmidt.
