Doris Evelyn McCrummen was born March 26, 1932, to Jesse and Frankie Killebrew in Lorenzo, near Lubbock, TX. She made her journey to her Heavenly home on February 5, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the youngest of three sisters, who preceded her in death. Doris graduated from Lubbock High School in 1949.
She married Frank McCrummen on June 11, 1949 in Lubbock, TX. They began their life together in Seminole, TX. Frank and Doris had three daughters. In 1969, they moved to Hobbs, NM, where Frank was a manager for Gibson's Discount Center.
Doris learned to sew in her high school home economics class, which became her life long passion. She was a homemaker and a seamstress for the public. Doris worked for Casa de Novia and Paulines doing alterations for many years. After retirement she continued to serve the public with her sewing skills. One of her contributions was making little girls dresses and purses for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas boxes each year. Doris attended Arthritis Aquatics classes at the New Mexico Junior College for over twenty-two years. She has been a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church for fifty-five years. Doris centered her life around the Lord, her family, and friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Edna Goolsby, and husband Arless, Mary Green, and husband, Johnie, daughter, Melinda Jane McCrummen, and granddaughter, Shelby Don Crossland.
She is survived by daughters Kay Morgan and husband Dickie, Carol Crossland and husband Jerry, grandchildren, Josh Morgan and wife Monica, Cody Morgan and wife Samantha, Kelsey Alvord and husband Tim, great grandchildren, Elika-Rose and Caleb Alvord, Jonah Morgan, and Chandler Morgan.
