Doris McIntire Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farnelli Funeral Home - Williamstown on May 2, 2023.
Doris McIntire (nee Maycock) of Williamstown, NJ, age 81, was called to heaven on April 29, 2023. Doris passed away peacefully at home and was surrounded by her beloved family.
Doris is predeceased by the love of her life, Samuel, who she was married to for 46 years on earth and for an eternity in heaven. She is survived by her four cherished daughters, Gail (Rich) Skibinski, of Mays Landing, Kathleen Hacker, of Williamstown, Diane Caola (Joe), of West Deptford, and Deb (Derek) DeFelice, of Williamstown, NJ. Affectionately called "Nan" by ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Christine) Hacker, Michael Skibinski, Samantha (Eric) Scrivana, Christine (Matt) Skibinski-Stake, Sean (Jaimie) Hacker, Sydney (Barry) Arena, Louis Caola, Lucy DeFelice, Evan Caola, and Brycen DeFelice.
Also, nine great-grandchildren, Austin Hacker, Makaylah, Selena, and Carli Scrivana, Aiden, Adelyn, Liam, Charlotte and Raelynn Hacker. Doris was also predeceased by her parents, Sidney and Gertrude Maycott (nee Reimel), brothers Robert Hill, Sidney Maycock, and sister Mary Hill Hance.
Born in Camden, she resided most of her life in Williamstown. Doris worked for 25 years as a rural mail carrier in Williamstown and retired as the Postmaster of the New Lisbon Post Office. Doris enjoyed baking, gardening, and catching up over coffee with family and friends. She loved shopping (mostly for others, as she embraced the motto, "you can make more money tomorrow!") In her earlier years, she loved canning, painting Plak Shack, and crocheting. Most of all, she loved dancing around the kitchen with her "love bubble" and serenading him while playing the organ. She greatly enjoyed family barbecues at the beautiful home she built with Sam on Spruce Lane. She often invited friends over, who became like family, nearly every weekend of the summer months to swim and BBQ. She was the primary caregiver for Sam for over 15 years while he was enduring Alzheimer's disease. Doris loved spending time with her beautiful daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 9:00 -11:00 am, followed by a service beginning at 11:00 am, at Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Interment will be at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ.
Our family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to Nurse Gloria and the others at VITAS Hospice. The care and attention given to our mother made her passing so much easier. Gloria's positive attitude and compassion for each of us and our mother was felt at each visit. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to VITAS Hospice, 521 Fellowship Rd Ste 110, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054.
