Charles Mulvan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farnelli Funeral Home - Williamstown on Feb. 3, 2026.
Charles Mulvan, age 89, a life-long resident of Blackwood, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife Deloris (nee Alberta), son Charles J. Mulvan III and his daughter Marguerite M. Mulvan. He is also survived by his grandchildren Katelyn Haskin (Chris) and Cody Mulvan (Kelsie), and great grandchildren Hailey and William, and his fur-baby Snuggles. Chuck met his lovely wife Deloris while roller skating at the Glendora Skating Rink. They were married for 63 years and went together for 8 years prior to marriage.

Chuck was an MP in the Army, as well as a sharpshooter when he was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany from 1957-1961. Charles (Chuck) also went by the name of "Muckles" around Blackwood. In his youth, he was a lifeguard at the Blackwood Lake when it was an active swimming lake. He was a dedicated member of the Blackwood Fire Company for 62 years. He worked for Acme Markets for over 40 years before retiring. In his retirement, he enjoyed fixing his lawn mowers, mowing lawns for older seniors, keeping his vehicles in tip top shape and visiting his long-time friends just to catch up, or sitting on the porch enjoying the weather, he especially liked to listen to thunderstorms. He was a very talented man, whether it was building items for his home or a bunny hutch for a friend, he could do it, he could also fix anything. Chuck also had a big heart and would help anyone that needed it, and gave it 150%; he never did anything halfway, if he said he would do it he did. He also had an infectious and beautiful smile. Chuck also enjoyed playing with his fur-baby, word searches, and teaching himself to draw and paint. But his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, they were his greatest accomplishment and he was very proud of all of them.

Services were held privately at the request of the family.
