Doris Miner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heer Mortuaries & Crematory - Brush on Dec. 3, 2024.
Doris Ann Miner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2024, at the age of 91, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, CO.
Doris was born on August 19, 1933, in rural Kane County, IL, to loving parents. She married the love of her life, Wesley Miner, in 1956, and together they raised a family in Marengo, IL, where they made many cherished memories. Doris was a devoted wife and mother, and after her sons were older, she worked at Warner Electric and Marengo Tool & Die. In the early 1990s, she and Wes moved to Brush, CO, to be closer to their sons. Doris found joy in her work, first with the opening crew at the new Brush McDonald's, and later as a substitute cook for the Brush School District. She also worked for several years at the Brush Grocery Kart, where she could share her passion for baking and cooking with others.
Retiring from the Grocery Kart gave Doris the opportunity to focus on her favorite job of all: caring for her grandson, Nate. She was a devoted grandmother, and Nate was truly the light of her life. She took him on daily walks in his stroller, sharing stories and the wonders of the world around them. Her love and care for him were a constant source of joy, and the two shared a bond that will never be forgotten.
Before a fall that affected her mobility and led to her time at Eben Ezer, Doris was known for her daily walks around the neighborhood with her faithful dog, Maggie. She found peace in nature, enjoying the simple pleasures of feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard, and connecting with others through her church community. Doris was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and continued to attend services at All Saints Lutheran Church during her time at Eben Ezer.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her husband Wesley, and her son Mark. She is survived by her son, David (Darline), and two grandchildren. Doris will be deeply missed by all who knew her for her kindness, her loving heart, and the unwavering faith that guided her through her life,
A Visitation will be held on December 12 from 4-6 pm at Heer Mortuary in Brush.
A graveside service to celebrate Doris will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Brush Memorial Cemetery, where Doris will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.

Doris was always a 'can-do' woman--the first to do this or that or the other thing when the need arose God bless her well-earned rest and God bless her memory. Charlene Holzworth
