Doris Morris Obituary
Doris Baugh Morris, of Matoaca, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the young age of 99. She was born on March 15, 1924, daughter of the late Mary and Ollie Baugh. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. “Shorty” Morris, and seven siblings. She was a loving mother of two daughters, Linda M. Davis-Edelblute (John) and Sandra M. Riggins (Wayne); grandchildren, Wendy Davis, Angela Rivera (Wilson), Robert Riggins (Cindi), Jason Riggins (Silvia) and Andrew Vickery; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Katie, Jenna Thompson, Ethan Davis, Isabella, Tayden, Carter Riggins, and Naomi Rivera (Corey); great-great-grandchild, Kaiden Downey; and nephew, Ronnie (Rita) Springfield. Mrs. Morris enjoyed gardening, fishing, bingo, crossword puzzles, playing cards with friends, and taking vacations with family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road Petersburg, VA. The family welcomes anyone to Golden Coral in Colonial Heights following the graveside service for a meal and fellowship.
