Mildred Elizabeth King Wallace of Colonial Heights, VA went to be with her Lord on January 11, 2026. She was born in Kinston North Carolina, on September 11, 1937.
She was preceded in death by her father Henry James King and mother Elizabeth Jane Small King; her husband James Wallace, and her brothers Emmett Small, Elbert Small and sister Bertha Small Swinson.
She is survived by her cousin Lewis Swinson (Delores) of Melbourne Florida, and her sisters-in-law; Rose Leath and Jeanette Wallace, along with many caring neighbors and friends and her church family; Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg.
Mildred retired from C & P telephone company as a telephone operator after over 30 years of service. She was greatly involved in many different activities at her church including teaching in the children's Sunday School department and leading the children's choir, singing in the choir and praise team as well as being an active member of the Laborers for Christ Sunday School class.
She enjoyed watching Nature shows on television, traveling and NASCAR, but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Monumental Baptist Church 2925 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia, 23803. Interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
