Doris Sue Morrow, age 88, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, was born on October 31, 1936, and passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025. She was born in Buford, Georgia.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Cemetery of Memorial Park Funeral Home, in Gainesville, Georgia. Rev. Michael Moore will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, on Saturday, July 5, 2025, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bonny Lee (B.L.) Morrow; her parents, D.B. Simpson and Maybell Carter Simpson; and her two brothers, Jimmy Lee Simpson and Victor "Vic" Steven Simpson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Charlene Morrow; daughter, Melinda Dura; and grandson, Reece Morrow; sister, Ann (Vernon) Jarrard; sisters-in-law, Laverne Simpson and Nancy Simpson; brother-in-law, Eli (Glenda) Morrow; and many nieces and nephews.
Sue was a 1954 graduate of Flowery Branch High School, and received an associate's degree in Business Administration at Brenau College, in Gainesville, Georgia.
Sue was a prominent cake decorator. She was awarded National Teacher of the Year by Wilton Cake Decorating Enterprises. At Cake Shows, she won numerous awards, and began officiating as a cake show judge for State and International Cake Exploration Society (ICES) cake shows.
After retiring from cake decorating, she began teaching paper arts (quilling) and she received a "Mastery of Technical Quilling Accreditation" from the North America Quilling Guild, which functions to promote the art form of quilling.
Sue was a member of Flowery Branch Baptist Church.
A special "Thanks" to the compassionate caregivers and med-tecs at "The Villas at Canterfield" in Cumming, Georgia; and to the caregivers and associates at Golden Rule Hospice.
