Margaret Smith Mitchell

Margaret Smith Mitchell, age 94, of Buford, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Mitchell, Jr; parents, George D. and Gertrude Hayes Smith. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her sons, Ray (Becky) Mitchell of White, GA, and Steve Mitchell of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Brad (Colleen Lynch) Mitchell of Fairview Park, OH, and Tonya (Stacy) Hall of White, GA; great-grandchildren, Amelia Mitchell, Wesley Mitchell, Garrett Hall, Parker Hall, Haley Hall; brother-in-law, Curtis Mitchell of Nashville, TN. Mrs. Mitchell was born January 10, 1931 in Buford, GA. She was a graduate of Flowery Branch High School. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and was a member of Friendship Community Baptist Church. She and her husband loved Bluegrass music and Gospel music. She also enjoyed cooking. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Community Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
