Sylvia Lewis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home South, Flowery Branch on Feb. 6, 2026.
Sylvia Estelle Lewis, age 98, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia.

Born on May 29, 1927, Sylvia was the beloved daughter of Lucille and Harvey Wyrick and Roy and Pat Lewis, and sister to JoAnne Pierce, all of whom preceded her in death. From the beginning of her long life to its graceful close, Sylvia's greatest calling was her service to the Lord. Her faith was not quiet or confined. It was lived out loud through her actions, her words, and the way she treated everyone she met. She was deeply involved in her church and devoted herself to being God's light in the lives of others, a role she embraced with sincerity and joy.

Sylvia was known for her wittiness and kindness, a combination that made conversations brighter and burdens lighter. Her humor was sharp but gentle, her kindness steady and sincere. To know her was to feel seen, welcomed, and often smiling without even realizing why.

She is lovingly remembered by her niece and nephew, Anne Pierce and Harvey Pierce, as well as six great-nieces and nephews and thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom carry forward the legacy of her faith, love, and quiet strength.

A service will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, with details to be announced by the family at a later date.

Sylvia Estelle Lewis lived nearly a century guided by faith, anchored in love, and marked by kindness. Her life was a testament to devotion, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to walk beside her.
